Chart Ding ("we," "us," or "the App") respects your privacy and is committed to
protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and
protect your data when you use our trading alarm application.

2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address - Used for account authentication and important notifications
- Name (optional) - For personalization of your experience
- Password - Securely hashed and stored via Supabase authentication
2.2 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you use the app:
- Alarm settings and configurations - To provide cloud sync functionality
- Clock preferences - Timezone, display settings, and customizations
- Subscription tier - To enforce feature limits (Free/Premium/Pro)
- Device information - Device type, browser, operating system for compatibility
- App interactions - Feature usage to improve the app experience
2.3 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.
Stripe collects payment details, billing address, and transaction history according to their
Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for:
- Service delivery - Providing alarm functionality, cloud sync, and multi-device access
- Account management - Authentication, password resets, and account recovery
- Subscription management - Processing upgrades, managing billing, and enforcing tier limits
- App improvement - Analyzing usage patterns to enhance features and fix bugs
- Customer support - Responding to inquiries and troubleshooting issues
- Security - Preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Where We Store Data
- Supabase - Authentication, user settings, and alarm configurations (encrypted in transit via HTTPS)
- Local storage - Offline functionality and caching (stored on your device only)
- Stripe - Payment and subscription data (PCI-compliant secure storage)
4.2 Security Measures
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords are securely hashed using industry-standard encryption
- We use Supabase's Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access their own data
- Regular security audits and updates to prevent vulnerabilities
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data with:
- Supabase - Cloud database and authentication provider
- Stripe - Payment processing for subscriptions
- StatCounter - Anonymous analytics to measure app traffic (no personally identifiable information)
These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your data - Request a copy of all personal information we hold
- Update your data - Modify account details, alarm settings, and preferences in-app
- Delete your data - Request complete account deletion via the app settings
- Opt out of emails - Unsubscribe from marketing emails (service emails may still be sent)
- Export your data - Download your alarm configurations and settings
6.1 How to Delete Your Account
- Open Chart Ding app or visit www.chartding.com
- Go to Settings → Account Management
- Click "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion (this action is permanent and cannot be undone)
Upon deletion, all your data (alarms, settings, account information) will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts - Data retained as long as your account is active
- Deleted accounts - Data purged within 30 days of deletion request
- Payment records - Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance (via Stripe)
- Anonymous analytics - Aggregated, non-identifiable data may be retained indefinitely
8. Children's Privacy
Chart Ding is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information,
please contact us immediately at support@chartding.com,
and we will delete it.
9. Cookies and Tracking
We use minimal tracking technologies:
- Essential cookies - Required for authentication and session management
- Local storage - Stores app settings and alarm configurations for offline use
- Analytics - StatCounter for anonymous traffic measurement (no personal data)
We do NOT use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
10. International Users
Chart Ding is hosted on servers located in the United States. By using the app, you consent to the
transfer of your information to the U.S. and processing according to this Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated
"Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
Continued use of Chart Ding after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to delete personal information
- Right to opt-out of data sale (we do NOT sell your data)
