By accessing and using Chart Ding ("the App") or the Chart Ding website, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you are not permitted to use the site or the app.
Chart Ding is an alarm and notification application for stock market traders. The App provides customizable time-based alarms, market hour notifications, clock display features, and a trade analysis dashboard that calculates statistics from your own past trades.
Important disclaimer: the App is an alarm, record-keeping, and statistical analysis tool. It does not provide financial advice, market data, trading signals, or investment recommendations. All trading decisions are your sole responsibility.
The analysis screens can be explored on demo data at every tier, including the free one. Section 4.1 explains what those demo accounts are.
Plans no longer offered. Lifetime and three-year plans were sold before 13 September 2026 and are not offered now. An account holding one keeps it, on the terms it was bought under.
Tier contents may change as the App develops. Where a change reduces what a paid tier includes, we will give notice as described in section 15.
The trade analysis dashboard reads a file you export from your own broker and calculates statistics from it. It does not connect to a broker, does not receive live market data, and does not have access to any account of yours.
The App includes demo accounts so the dashboard can be explored without importing anything.
The demo accounts are entirely fictional. The trades, prices, dates and results in them were generated by us as sample data. They are not real trades, they are not anyone's actual results, and they are not a track record.
No figure shown in a demo account represents actual trading, actual profits, or results that any person did achieve or could expect to achieve. Hypothetical results have inherent limitations: they are prepared with the benefit of hindsight, they carry none of the financial risk of real trading, and they cannot account for the effect of that risk on a person's decisions.
Statistics calculated from your own imported file are only as accurate as that file. Broker exports differ in format and completeness, and some omit information the App would otherwise use. You are responsible for verifying any figure against your broker's own records before relying on it.
The journal includes a Dictate button that turns speech into text using your browser's own speech recognition. In Chrome and Edge this means the audio is sent to Google's servers to be transcribed; it is not processed on your device.
Nothing is sent unless you press that button. No audio recording is stored — by us, or by the page. Only the resulting text is kept, stored in the same way as the rest of your notes; the Privacy Policy describes where that is. Browsers without speech recognition, such as Firefox, do not show the button.
Trading involves substantial risk, including the risk of losing your entire investment, and in some instruments more than your initial investment. Past results, whether your own or shown in a demo, do not indicate future results. Nothing in the dashboard is a recommendation to make, hold, or close any position.
Your account and license are personal to you and may not be shared, transferred, or sold. Specifically, you agree that:
Violations. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without refund. Sharing credentials with others is a material breach of these Terms.
One-time purchases are non-recurring. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings, or through the app store where you purchased.
Payments are processed through Stripe and, where applicable, an app store. We do not store your payment card details.
Our Refund Policy sets this out in full, including billing errors, outages, and the cases we look at individually.
Market holiday information and default market hours (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET) are provided for convenience. Market hours can change because of holidays, early closures, or other circumstances. You are responsible for verifying actual market hours with your broker or an official source such as NYSE or Nasdaq.
We are not liable for losses arising from incorrect market times, missed alarms, or technical failures.
The App depends on your device's system clock, browser capabilities and operating system. Alarms may not trigger if:
Use the App as a supplementary tool, not as your only alarm for time-sensitive events.
Chart Ding is an alarm, record-keeping, and statistical analysis tool. It is not a financial adviser, broker, or investment service, and nothing it provides is financial, investment, or trading advice.
The App does not connect to a broker, does not place or route orders, and does not generate buy or sell signals. It sounds an alarm at times you choose, and calculates statistics from a file you supply.
Some of what the App records touches figures that also matter for tax — cost basis, proceeds, and how the premium on an option that was exercised or assigned is accounted for. Where the App asks you what happened to a position, or records an amount you enter, it is keeping your record for your analysis.
It is not a tax return, not a substitute for your broker's statement, and not tax advice. Tax treatment depends on your jurisdiction, your circumstances, and rules we do not track. Consult a qualified tax professional about your own situation, and treat your broker's statement as the authority where it disagrees with anything shown here.
Every figure the trade analysis dashboard produces is arithmetic performed on trades that have already happened. It describes a record. It does not forecast one.
In particular, nothing the App calculates or displays is:
A statistic can describe what a set of trades did. It cannot tell you what the next one will do, and the App does not claim to.
Nothing in the App, on this website, or in any material we publish — including any description of chart patterns, market events, indicators, probabilities, statistics, or the ways other traders use them — is advice, a recommendation, a solicitation, or a suggested trading strategy. Figures or research we cite are general background describing past observations, not a prediction of future results.
We do not know your circumstances, objectives, or risk tolerance, and nothing we publish is tailored to them. Trading involves substantial risk, including the risk of losing more than your initial investment.
You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions and for any resulting gains or losses. Consult a licensed financial professional before making any trading or investment decision.

The content, features and functionality of the App are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. Your purchase grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR TRADING LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
Our total liability for any damages shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at our discretion, without notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, to us, or to third parties.
Specific grounds for termination include:
On termination your right to use the App ceases immediately. Termination for violation of these Terms may result in forfeiture of the license without refund.
We may modify these Terms. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when they were last revised. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding use of the App.
